Mojše Band

Mojše Band interprets Jewish songs mostly from the former Austro-Hungarian area. Band operates at the border regions of Slovakia, Poland and Czech Republic. It specializes in so-called bilingual songs which are very popular among Hasidic community. The band is trying to give to these songs a new robe with an intention of Hasidic philosophy of nigunim dveikus to interpret and reorganize old songs by the elements of chanson, jazz and world music etho or contemporary music. Mojše took several concerts in different clubs in Central Europe, performed at many festivals (Cracow Jewish Culture Festival, PL, Mazal Tov – Košice, SK, Simcha – Wroclaw, PL, Shamajim – Trebic, CZ…). Inspite of the fact that the band is trying to reconstruct and make cover version of old repertoire of klezmer bands, it is also striving to create new liturgical music. Michal Palko, as a former cantor of the reformed community in Cracow composed and interpreted with Band more complete liturgical units and services (New Galitzyaner Kabbalat Shabbat, Shachrit, Seder Tu biShvat, Passover Seder, Tashlich, HaChnasat ha Sefer Torah Hakafot ...).
