Gertrude Moser-Wagner and Ulrich Kaufmann: bridge NOTHING
media art
Bridge NOTHING
Vienna, 2020
Length: 5 min 30 sec
Short video, based on projection with live performance and language in an unbounded space. Something like a narrative, has been, will emerge, forms the bridge. NOTHING is generated, collected, shifted, submerged. Visibility is present and simultaneously one’s own blindness to the obvious. Light and dark elements interact directly with each other compositionally and create the image of visual poetry.

Gertrude Moser-Wagner
Vienna-based concept and project artist working internationally across multiple disciplines including installation, poetic intervention, radio art, performance, and video. She completed her diploma in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 1981, studying under Bruno Gironcoli. From 1982 to 2010, she held teaching positions at prestigious institutions including the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and Webster University Vienna.
Moser-Wagner’s practice has evolved to embrace what she terms “an ecology of thought,” particularly evident in her public art interventions. Since 2003, she has developed the TASTE projects (www.taste.at), exploring the intersection of art and public space. Her current work continues under the frameworks “art goes science” and “art contains,” reflecting her interdisciplinary approach.
Beyond her artistic practice, she serves as publisher, artist-curator, and organizer of interdisciplinary symposia. Her work has been featured in numerous international projects, exhibitions, and festivals. Recent exhibitions in 2023 include Systema Naturae #3 in Caltanissetta, Sicily; Balance again, Belgrade Sounding (with Josef Reiter) at SKC Belgrade; EVA20 Experimental Video Art Exhibition at BACC, Bangkok; Balancing at Literaturhaus Graz; Open lines at Parallel Vienna; and Flashback: Hermit 1992-1999 at the Museum of Modern Art (MUO) in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
